Hi Paul,

Well, that simple patch has been implemented
during the CouchDB course in London: one of 
the trainers (I do not exactly remember which of
them: Jan or Chris) were interested in tracing 
the VM state via JSON API. 

I do realize about the drawbacks of the solution:
it is just a very basic proposal. Feel free to
edit/remove it.
