Subject [jira] Updated: (COUCHDB-183) No pagination in Futon for reduce views
Date Wed, 24 Dec 2008 20:34:45 GMT

Jason Davies updated COUCHDB-183:

    Attachment: futon_reduce_pagination.diff

This patch enables pagination for reduce views in Futon.

Still to do:
 a) it currently always shows next/prev links even if they link to a page containing no rows
 b) if you continue to the next/prev page from a zero-row page it will show rows from the
beginning/end of the keyspace respectively (giving the illusion of a circular ordering, perhaps
not ideal!)

> Futon doesn't support paginating of reduce views at the moment, which can be confusing
for new users. This is due to the difficulty of efficiently working out the total number
of rows available from a reduce view.
> I propose displaying something like "Showing x-y rows of unknown" at the bottom, and
showing a next/previous link if there are more results to be displayed. An efficient way
to calculate whether there are next/previous results would be to fetch 1 + rows_per_page +
1 (with appropriate offset parameter etc.)
