Subject [jira] [Commented] (COR-21) Extracting Externals Problems on Shared Drives
Date Sat, 10 Jan 2015 18:32:34 GMT

Dennis E. Hamilton commented on COR-21:

PS: One advantage of using a zip utility is if we find one that lets us selectively extract
so that we don't have to do a full unzip of each library before then copying out just the
bits we need. This would save a lot of hammering on a hard drive and also any shared-file-system

> Peter reported failures of the extract_downloads script when operating on a share from
within a Windows 7 VMware Guest.
> A similar problem has been replicated with a Windows 10 Guest on Hyper-V.
> It smells like some sort of race condition.
> Some use on shared drives work, others fail.
