Subject [jira] [Commented] (COR-11) Make interface between docformat and webkit (prepare for e.g. Qt).
Date Mon, 19 Jan 2015 02:25:34 GMT

Dennis E. Hamilton commented on COR-11:

Then, it seems that modification of a document involves translation to HTML, editing of HTML,
and then the peculiar modification process that happens in DocFormat where the resulting edited
HTML is "applied" back onto to the original form?

(And that fits the editing of the HTML happening via a browser at the user in the case of
a cloud-stored document in some standard format.)

OK. I'm not certain what scale of OOXML/ODF document can be handled that way. I assume the
limiting case has to do with what can go with sufficient round-tripping fidelity into a flat
single HTML file.

Or is it not so flat, with more dynamic behavior involving JavaScript as well as however a
view is presented to an user at a browser interface?
