Jason Ginchereau commented on CB-11042:
---------------------------------------

With a small project, skipping the prepare step makes launching the app in VS about 1s faster
(7s -> 6s) on an average-spec dev PC. It will save even more time with a larger project
that has many HTML/JS/resource files that would be re-copied during the prepare step.

This is one of a few things we're working on to streamline the dev inner loop of Cordova projects
in VS. (Most others don't require changes to the Cordova runtime.) Saving seconds here and
there can really add up.

> The 'cordova run' command currently always does a "prepare" operation for the target
platform before launching the app. There is a --nobuild option (to skip building the native
project), but there isn't a --noprepare option.
> This option will be helpful to optimize build-and-run scenarios in the Visual Studio
tools for Cordova. VS always ensures the project is fully prepared and built before trying
to launch. So by the time it calls 'cordova run' there is no need to do the prepare step,
and it just causes the developer to wait extra seconds for every iteration of the inner loop.
