This appears to be a lint error, since lint doesn't believe that the type literal 1 is actually
an integer.  I'm not sure in what scenario the number 1 wouldn't be considered an Integer
by Java, but that's why the error only exists on release.  We can make sure that we cast literal
integers to Integers for the purpose of passing Lint, but we should probably also disable
Lint, because it's starting to not be very useful.
