    Alright, I plan on merging this in soon. I want to do some more testing and write some
plugin-side docs before I do, but since this PR's been open a while and I don't think this
will really be much of a breaking change, I am going to push forward. I plan to merge it in
early next week. Let me know if there are any objections and I will try to address them!
