Subject [jira] [Commented] (CB-7868) Cordova Android@3.6.4 is broken for some Android versions (Javascript)

Ian Clelland commented on CB-7868:
----------------------------------

We can never guarantee that -- really, if we close this as "Cannot Reproduce", then it just
becomes the reporter's responsibility to re-open it if it comes back, and that seems like
a legitimate approach to an issue that appears to be gone, but where we couldn't come up with
a test case. (The reporter becomes the test case, essentially)

I think that Andrew's patch would have solved it, and it sounds like it did. I'd be comfortable
closing this as "can't reproduce".

If we wanted to, we could put some tests into mobilespec that just extended (and re-extended)
objects on {{navigator}}, but we'd be doing that blind, without having a failing device to
start with.

> Project: Apache Cordova
> Issue Type: Bug
> Components: Android, CordovaJS
> Affects Versions: 4.0.0
>         Environment: Android >= 2.3.6 && <= 4.0.3

>
> Cordova 3.6.4 breaks the compatibility with some versions of Android. The app won't load
> I've been able to reproduce the bug on my 2.3.6 and 2.3.7 devices, and according to some
bug reports I found, this might also affect other Android versions <= 4.0.3 but I did not
have the opportunity to test those platforms.
> The bug has been introduced in this commit: https://github.com/apache/cordova-android/commit/025ca36d3ad0e2acb5c496442a661e3759b30af3
> And the culprit is the Object.defineProperty method that is broken on the platforms I
mentioned above. (see https://github.com/cujojs/poly/issues/29 )
