Looks like the stretching logic was correct, but I missed that there is a special case when
the image is the exact size of the device screen and the status bar is visible (aka - the
scenario with our default images). I've added in the special case:;a=commit;h=65924ef25f69bbe297e89d0ba6f40aca51bb26c5

Note that if you trim the images by even 1px in either dimension, the special case doesn't
