Subject [jira] [Created] (CB-2401) Traversal of DOM and access to Logs for HTML embedded (through use of Object tag)
Date Fri, 08 Feb 2013 16:01:13 GMT
Mark Taylor created CB-2401:
-------------------------------

Summary: Traversal of DOM and access to Logs for HTML embedded (through use of
Object tag)
                 Key: CB-2401
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CB-2401
             Project: Apache Cordova
          Issue Type: New Feature
          Components: weinre
    Affects Versions: 2.4.0
Environment: Currently using Weinre through Adobe Edge Inspect on Android devices.
            Reporter: Mark Taylor
            Assignee: Patrick Mueller

We currently embed HTML inside our page using the object tag. We'd like to be able to inspect
the DOM, and get console logs from the embedded HTML. There is currently no alternative way
of debugging HTML embedded this way (for Android phones and the default browser), so it would
be a very welcome piece of functionality.

I think a fair few mobile developers use the object tag in this way, I've seen the Chrome
Developer Tools provide this functionality (for debugging within the Chrome browser only).

In my example, both HTML files run on the same site, same domain, if it makes the implementation
simpler.
