No failures on trunk here: http://vmbuild.apache.org/continuum/projectGroupSummary.action?projectGroupId=11

And we typically test the source build as part of the release vote. I know of some UT problems
with Maven 3.0, but Maven 2.2.1 should be fine.

What failures are you getting?
