Ross -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [Foundations] Call for Participation Grace Hopper 2010 Date: Tue, 12 Jan 2010 11:50:15 -0700 From: Stormy Peters To: FLOSS Foundations Last year at Grace Hopper, a Women in Computing Conference, I noticed that there were no booths for free and open source software projects. Is anybody interested in partnering up to sponsor a booth? (We can and should ask for a nonprofit discount but I think even manning a booth for the whole conference might be something that is easier shared.) The audience is 90-95% women and probably 50% university students. Most companies used their booths to recruit job applicants. (I also encourage all of you to submit talks on free and open source software project topics!) Stormy ---------- Forwarded message ---------- From: *BJ Wishinsky* > Date: Mon, Jan 11, 2010 at 11:31 AM The Call for Participation is now open for the 2010 Grace Hopper Celebration of Women in Computing at http://gracehopper.org/2010/participate/call-for-participation/ Key Deadlines: * The deadline to submit proposals is March 16, 2010. * Notifications on the submission status will be sent out by May 18, 2010. Recommendations to anyone who wants to participate: 1. Your subject should not be something specific to your organization. 2. If you have a panel - it needs to span across organizations - not 5 people from the same company discussing an issue in their company. Combining academics and industry or interdisciplinary discussions are great. 3. We are encouraging submissions that promote diversity and International participation. 4. A submission in line with the theme of the conference "Collaborating Across Boundaries" would be ideal. Proposals are being accepted for: * Birds of a Feather (BOFs) Call for Participation * New Investigators Technical Papers Call for Participation * Panels, Workshops and Presentations Call for Participation * PhD Forum Call for Participation * Technical Posters Call for Participation * Technical Research Papers Call for Participation Full details are at http://gracehopper.org/2010/participate/call-for-participation/ --------------000202050903010601010703 Content-Type: text/plain; name="Attached Message Part" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Content-Disposition: attachment; filename="Attached Message Part" _______________________________________________ foundations mailing list foundations@lists.freedesktop.org http://lists.freedesktop.org/mailman/listinfo/foundations --------------000202050903010601010703--
