Excellent!  Now if we can do that as much as possible with the rest of the 
libraries.  Case-in-point httpclient-3.0, especially since it is in what 
the developers are hoping to be the final release candidate.  I understand 
that there are issues in getting lots of libraries that have dependencies 
on each other to hit nirvana and all support the same versions with the 
latest releases of each, but if it can be done, it should be done.  A 
VFS-1.0 that depends on modern versions of all the libraries will be more 
future compatible with user applications and will result in fewer upgrade 
problems with later releases of VFS.
