Subject RE: Commons Configuration and Log4J

Humm.. What are you trying to do, just cut down on the number of xml
files you need to deal with? If that is your objective, I've used the
approach of a container tool like Avalon to parse the config file and
hand the correct xml to commons-configuration and to log4j. Well, not
those two, but a similar pair.

Theorectically you can load any xml file as a commons config file, you
may need to write your own digester rules or just subclass one of the
existing Configuratoin implmentation. That would have each project just
using the same file as the source.

Or, alternatively, write a commons configuration loader for log4j.

Subject: Commons Configuration and Log4J

I am using the xml form for commons configuration as well as logi4j
configuration. Is it possible to work off of a single xml configuration

file for both? Has anyone done such a thing and if so how?
All advice appreciated. Thanks in advance.
