Yes, version 2.1 or higher.

A binary incompatibility maybe.

I just checked and commons-collections-3.1 and it still has the 
required classes. (commons-pools compiles)

Where did you get all your jars? (zip/tar.gz download, from 
maven/ibiblio, build by yourself?)
