You are correct, the getter returns a Foo.  But why should that matter?  Are they iteratively
instantiating objects and copying from one to another?  If so, that might explain another
error that I had.  There used to be overloaded setFoo's.  One took a String and one took a
Foo.  It threw an IllegalArgumentException.  When I removed the setFoo(Foo f) setter (it wasn't
used anyway), the exception went away.

So anyway, how do I solve my problem without changing a bunch of code?
