I fear answering stupidly... I think the answer is yes.
Of course, up to the doubles quotes. So it should rather be:
  <j:if test="${myBeanMap.get('aBean').success == true}">
Fortunately, there's no such thing as "singe-quote-for-char" or 
"double-quotes-for-string" in Jexl... everything's a string.
