Subject FileUpload: Bug in FileUploadBase::parseRequest?
Date Wed, 12 Nov 2003 11:26:45 GMT
Hi all,

I'm still working on getting FileUpload write the uploaded files directly
to database. I will give some hints on how to do it when I'm done. However,
it is not clear yet if I will be allowed give away code.

While testing I found out that when a file field in the HTML upload form is
empty, i.e. this field is not used to upload a file, FileUploadBase still
creates an FileItem for it. Is this on purpose? In the code of
FileUploadBase::parseRequest it is checked if the file fileName is null,
and if so, no FileiItem is created and the body data is discarded. However,
if the file field in the HTML form is empty then the filename is not null
but "", an empty string! So this looks like a bug.

FileUploadBase developers, am I right?

Steffi
