I fear I had a couple of layers of problems.  By the time I wrote the post,
I probably had the library situation worked out and didn't know it.  My
symptom was a ubiquitous servlet not available.  First it was because logger
jar(s) were not there.  I discovered this by reading the import statements
in the FileUpload class and comparing with the directory listing.  Then a
stupid coding error that gave me the same symptom.  So I thought I was
missing
another jar.

Lessons learned:

You need the logger jars to run FileUpload.

You need to know how to use the logger classes  :-)
