Stefan Bodewig commented on COMPRESS-407:
-----------------------------------------

The exception you see occurs, when I Compress tries to read a bunch of bytes from the archive
as a probe for detecting the type and to push those back. Can you also provide the nested
exception of that? I get a test failure following your description but don't see the exception
itself. In either case the exception happens before the input is handed to {{TarArchiveInputStream}}
at all.

I'm not familiar with the way you set up {{is}} but somehow the result doesn't seem to like
it when we try to read 12 bytes or reset to the beginning. Is {{source}} at least 12 bytes
long or has your tar come up empty? At first glance I don't see any error in the way you create
the archive. Does it work if you use the {{createArchiveInputStream}} overload with {{archiverName}}?
