Very Interesting!  In my application, I have to evaluate 10 to 20 sub-matrices and got orders
of magnitude better performance using the patched version.  I'm running Java version "1.8.0_31"
on Linux and also got orders of magnitude better performance on a Galaxy Note 4 running Android.

What do you mean with "has warmed up"?  Maybe your application scenario is a totally different
one compared to a mobile scenario, where we want to have low latency and low energy consumption.
