Chris Jones commented on CSV-175:
---------------------------------

I have no knowledge of Informix myself, however it seems the UNLOAD feature is used to create
delimited files. From what I can see here

http://www.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/SSBJG3_2.5.0/com.ibm.gen_busug.doc/c_fgl_InOutSql_UNLOAD.htm

There is a "standard" option and a "CSV" option, and it seems likely the customer I worked
with used the "standard" option. The "CSV" option appears to differ in a few ways including
not writing a trailing delimiter (as expected). However, I can also see reasons why they may
have chosen not to use the "CSV" option even if it was available to them, one of which is

 - Leading and trailing blanks are not truncated in the output value.

Which would have meant some huge CSV files in their case.

> I worked with a customer recently who uses Informix as a database, and when they export
to CSV format it adds a trailing delimiter (I'm informed there is no alternative). It would
be nice to have the ability to ignore these when parsing.
