Subject [jira] [Created] (VFS-591) Created files not detected when using DefaultFileMonitor
Date Thu, 17 Dec 2015 15:09:46 GMT
Florin Spico created VFS-591:
--------------------------------

Summary: Created files not detected when using DefaultFileMonitor
                 Key: VFS-591
                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/VFS-591
             Project: Commons VFS
          Issue Type: Bug
    Affects Versions: 2.0
         Environment: Windows 7
            Reporter: Florin Spico

In Windows-7 environment, when using the DefaultFileMonitor for monitoring the newly created
files, I have encountered the following issues:
by copying the files from Explorer with Ctrl-C/Ctrl-V of a folder or just for a one single
file, the files are put in the so called Cache but they are not seen by the fileCreated method
of FileListner class.

 org.apache.commons.vfs2.cache.SoftRefFilesCache -putFile: file:///C:/Temp/My-file.txt

but no further reference about what is happening with it. My questions are:
What could be the reason for evicting the file from the cache?
Have you observed this kind of behavior in your tests?
Is the 2.1-SNAPHSOT solving this issue?
Thanks.
