Come to think of it, commons-compress could probably provide a lot of these messages directly
in the error since the knowledge about the capabilities of the format belong inside commons-compress.
I'll submit a patch for this if you find this ok, and I'll try to find out if we need to do
anything on the outside or just keep the RuntimeException
