Such cases may occur when the lines that form the polygon boundaries are almost parallel and
intersection location cannot be computed reliably. This is a numerical issue due to limited
accuracy of double precision numbers.

We cannot do anything about this without a way to reproduce the error. If you could provide
us a test case reproducing it (a small one if possible), we could look at it.
