Emmanuel Bourg commented on CLI-236:
------------------------------------

Did you try this syntax:

{code}-someOption 'A string'{code}

> CommandLine.getOptionValue() only returns first word of string
> --------------------------------------------------------------
>
>                 Key: CLI-236
>                 URL: https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/CLI-236
>             Project: Commons CLI
>          Issue Type: Bug
>          Components: CLI-1.x
>    Affects Versions: 1.2
>         Environment: Java 1.7, Mac
>            Reporter: Timothy Reaves
>
> I have an option that takes an argument. On the command line, I use:
> -someOption "A string"
> getOptionValue() should return "A String", but it returns "A".
