I agree, this sounds like a good compromise. I guess we will then have to change the {{configurationAt()}}
and {{configurationsAt()}} methods to return {{SubnodeConfiguration}} objects rather than
{{HierarchicalConfiguration}} so that you do not have to do a manual cast. But this should
not be a problem.

I didn't see any other way to remove a node I got from that method, without explicit casting
to SubnodeConfiguration.
