Subject [jira] [Updated] (DIGESTER-168) Ability to easily extend XML-based definition of rules

Eugene Fedotov updated DIGESTER-168:
------------------------------------

    Description:
It was relatively easy to extend XML-based definition of rules in the previous versions of
the Digester. At least it was possible in version 1.8 through inheritance of the org.apache.commons.digester.xmlrules.DigesterRuleParser
(in the inheriting parser class I was able to set customized DTD and to add rules matching
custom elements).

It's no longer possible in version 3.2 since org.apache.commons.digester3.xmlrules.XmlRulesModule
is package private and final.

Is it possible to make XmlRulesModule more "extension friendly"?
