Subject [jira] Updated: (NET-357) [POP3] [Solution] The POP3 client does not support SSL/TLS connections
Date Sat, 12 Feb 2011 16:55:57 GMT

Bogdan Drozdowski updated NET-357:

The ZIP file contains 2 classes in the org/apache/commons/net/pop3 directory/package. These
classes are borrowed from the FTP package and extend the POP3Client with on-connection and
on-demand SSL/TLS negotiation. Tested with dovecot. You may put these in another package,
of course. If these are accepted, the ExtendedPOP3Client from NET-352 (if also accepted),
and perhaps any other added classes, should be made a subclass of POP3SClient instead of POP3Client.

> The POP3Client class does not support automatic SSL negotiation when connecting to the
POP3S port and it does not support TLS negotiation when connecting to the standard POP3 port.
