Subject [jira] Commented: (LANG-486) Add (non-)lenient date parsing
Date Fri, 01 Jan 2010 18:11:54 GMT

Michael Osipov commented on LANG-486:
-------------------------------------

I don't know here you got this from but java.text.DateFormat#setLienent says:
"Specify whether or not date/time parsing is to be lenient. With lenient parsing, the parser
may use heuristics to interpret inputs that do not precisely match this object's format. With
strict parsing, inputs must match this object's format. "

We do parse too, the word lenient should remain since it is already known as a method name
part.

> I use a lot the DateUtils#parseDate method and it's very handy. It lacks leniency handling.
I patched a solution against 2.4
