Subject [jira] Commented: (DIGESTER-135) Digester rules defined through Java5 Annotatations
Date Wed, 21 Oct 2009 14:47:59 GMT

James Carman commented on DIGESTER-135:

It just seems way too easy to get "lost" while trying to add these annotations to your domain
objects (not to mention that you're mixing XML parsing with your domain code). I'm not one
of the regular committers on the Digester project, so I'll defer to their better judgement,
but I'm not big on this change. Again, I would much rather see a more builder-like API for
Digester rules that makes it read a little easier.

> Taking inspiration by Google-Guice, JAXB and JPA's annotations, the existing package
can be extended adding some facilities to configure the commons-digester using the Java language
metadata annotations.
