Subject [jira] Commented: (JEXL-65) Need operator for integer division
Date Thu, 13 Aug 2009 01:53:14 GMT

Sebb commented on JEXL-65:
--------------------------

Possible name / symbol for integer division:

quotient
'\' (reverse solidus or backslash)

The '\' symbol is used by Mathematica.

I think these are better than "intdiv" because the result might not be an integer - e.g. if
two Long values are involved, then the result should be a Long.

Python uses '//', but this might get confused with the single-line comment introducer.

> It would be useful to have an operator that performs integer division, e.g. 3 intdiv
1 == 1.
