Subject [jira] Commented: (CLI-180) arguments with spaces parsed as individual arguments
Date Tue, 26 May 2009 08:26:45 GMT

Emmanuel Bourg commented on CLI-180:

That was on the command line or in a shell script? What is your OS?

On Windows the argument must be surrounded with double quotes. On Unix you can use simple
quotes, double quotes, or escape the space with a backslash.

> If an argument contains a space then the part after the space is treated as another argument
and you end up with an invalid argument error.
> Tried many things to escape the space: double quotes around the argument value, backslash
before the space, short and long forms, etc. Nothing is working.
