Mostly the former - I imagine that actual testing of DBCP against
Derby won't be as important as being able to run it against
Oracle/MySQL/SQL Server etc.

Looking to get my feet wet in [performance], and finishing the unit
tests against Derby and Jetty seemed like a good way to get started.
