Subject [jira] Updated: (LANG-286) Not backwards compatible
Date Tue, 24 Oct 2006 20:00:17 GMT

Henri Yandell updated LANG-286:
-------------------------------

    Fix Version/s: 2.3

Keeping this open to remind me to check this when 2.3 is released (though it may not be released
and instead go straight to 3.0).

I've requested that jardiff support diffs on serialVersionId for Serializable classes.

> Release report states that commons-lang 2.2 is binary backwards compatible, this does
not seem to be correct between commons-lang 2.1 and 2.2
> Running 2.2 at the server and 2.1 on client will result in an exception:
> org.omg.CORBA.MARSHAL: Unable to read value from underlying bridge : Mismatched serialization
