Subject [jira] Commented: (CONFIGURATION-226) Describe more accurate about the getBoolean() method
Date Tue, 12 Sep 2006 20:06:31 GMT
Oliver Heger commented on CONFIGURATION-226:

The JavaDoc of the getBoolean() methods was updated to point to PropertyConfiguration.toBoolean()
where the real conversion happens. Here the documentation now refers to the BooleanUtils class
from Commons Lang, which performs the boolean conversion for us. I hope this makes usage of
these methods clearer.

Because Commons Lang already has a class for transforming string values to boolean, I don't
want to add another implementation to Configuration. So if you need more string constants
that should evaluate to true, I would suggest talking to the Lang team.

> In the javadoc there is only described, that a boolean value is try to load in the Configuration#getBoolean()
methods. But do you mean the Java Boolean values which are only working for strings like "true"
and "false" or do you have a more lazy implementation like for string in the combination "true",
"false", "t", "f", "y", "n" and so on? The javadoc should speak more about this.
