Subject [jira] Resolved: (LANG-273) Heuristic date/time parser

Henri Yandell resolved LANG-273:
--------------------------------

    Resolution: Won't Fix

Generally we're trying to avoid getting any further into date/time code. It's a bit of a sticky
mess. Instead we point people towards JODA Time which goes much further into sorting things
out than Lang wants to go.

I'd recommend that you see if they have a feature like this and if not get involved over there
in adding something.

Please re-open if you disagree; and thanks for the suggestion/offer.

> Please add software to parse a date or date and time with less guidance than required
by DateUtils.parseDate.
> An example is available from http://icecube.wisc.edu/~dglo/software/calparse/index.html
> I have some improvements, which I'd be happy to contribute.
