Subject [jira] Commented: (CLI-40) [cli] DateValidatorTest & FileValidatorTest problems

Henri Yandell commented on CLI-40:
----------------------------------

Have applied the idea of creating a new instance. Newbieish as it sounds to blame the JDK,
this definitely looks like a bug in SimpleDateFormat. Happens in both 1.4.2 and 1.5.0 on my
Apple.

svn ci -m "Modifying the test so it creates a new format object rather than reusing the static
one. For s
ome reason it gives the wrong response and it's hard to see why given that it works for other
methods and JUnit is single threaded. This is discussed in CLI
-40"
Sending src/test/org/apache/commons/cli2/validation/DateValidatorTest.java
Transmitting file data .
Committed revision 412456.

> The DateValidatorTest always fails with validation errors. It looks like the
> test itself might be invalid but since I don't know the history of the code I
> don't know which one is right.
> The FileValidatorTest tests might sometimes fail if executed for the very first
> time on Windows. There is a missing .waitFor() call to ensure the process
> finishes before the test is executed.
