           Summary: [lang] Wrong format for date "01.01.1000"
           Product: Commons
           Version: 2.1 Final
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Lang
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: abinet@gmail.com

FastDateFormat.getInstance("dd.MM.yyyy").format() returns "01.01.01000" instead
of"01.01.1000"

   public void testFastDateFormatter() throws ParseException
   {
      final String dateString = "01.01.1000";
      final SimpleDateFormat simpleDateFormatter = new
SimpleDateFormat("dd.MM.yyyy");
      final FastDateFormat fastDateFormatter =
FastDateFormat.getInstance("dd.MM.yyyy");
      final Date date = simpleDateFormatter.parse( dateString );
      assertEquals(simpleDateFormatter.format( date ),  dateString,
simpleDateFormatter.format( date ));
      assertEquals(fastDateFormatter.format( date ),  dateString,
fastDateFormatter.format( date ));
   }
