Note also that there are a few minor incompatibilities between the
proposed 1.1 and the former 1.0.4 for code that *extends*
commons-logging classes hence the minor number change is probably
necessary. For most users, though, the current SVN head code is a
compatible upgrade.

Note also that this release would clear the way for potentially more
significant rearchitecture of Logging; a number of ideas have been
floated based particularly around distributing a separate jar for each
supported library ("static binding"). However before getting started on
this it seems a good idea to release a less ambitious update containing
the accumulated fixes to the existing design.
