Summary: BeanUtilsBean: Value into scalar section
           Product: Commons
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: All
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Keywords: APIBug
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: Bean Utilities
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: sixteenofour@yahoo.com

Hi,

I 'm using a map-backed property to get the data from a run-time
generated form. If one of the controls in the form is a multi-select,
I only get the first selected option, even though I have selected multiple
values from the select list.

For ActionForm, I'm using a map-backed action form and the bean reference in
the map-backed action form is an instance of LazyDynaBean.

As I de-bugged I figured out that when Struts tries to populate the values of
the multi-select into the LazyDynaBean instance, only the first item in the
selected list is used because it the way BeanUtilsBean class has been coded.

Can this be rectified to accpet the entier array instead of **only the first
element in the array**

I'm using the commons-beanutils1.7 version, the line number where the above
mentioned situation occurs is at 1004.

Hope I have provided you with enough info, if you need more, I will be glad to
assist you.

regards,
Sriram
