Hmmm, will think of it - in the meantime you could create the FileSystemManager
"by hand"

Derive your own FileSystemManager from StandardFileSystemManagerand and overload
the method

protected DefaultFileReplicator createDefaultFileReplicator()
{
    return new DefaultFileReplicator(new File("/home/im/tmp"));
}

Then, instead of using VFS.getManager() create your own manager (dont forget to
init it by calling mgr.init()). As VFS.getManager() you can attach this instance
to a "final static" and so you have to do it only once.
