Hi Steve, thanx for your quick answer!

Yes, I'm using the latest version - 1.4.0 (sorry for picking the wrong from the
option list :-((( ).

Wrt. the mentioned problem: Than it must be a real bug, since before I wrote the
report, I tried the ftp.getReplyCode() - but using it, hangs the client (I guess
until it receives a connection timeout). I attached the code snipplet, which
shows  the unexpected behavior ...
