Sorry, but I don't agree with this. 

Can you please provide a justification for this feature?

I don't actually understand why support for handling int[] was ever added to
StringArrayConverter at all, and can't currently see any reason to add more
features. And if double[] support is added, then why not long[] and byte[] and
char[]?

Note that ConvertUtils has always supported string->object conversions but *not*
object->string conversions. Providing proper support for object->string would be
a significant change to the goals of BeanUtils and would have to be debated. 

Given that beanutils is both fragile and critical to the functioning of projects
like struts and Digester, backwards compatibility is hard to achieve yet
extremely important. This means that it is unlikely that a significant
change/expansion of beanutils functionality would be agreed. Not to mention that
beanutils has an extremely small maintainer base.

Note that int[] support was added due to bugzilla #18297. I've read that entry,
but still don't understand what the point of this was.
