Converting these classes to non-final *might* be a good idea. But I don't think
it's *necessary*. It certainly isn't needed to make BooleanConverter accept
alternative encodings, as BooleanConverter is now configurable. So I'd prefer
not to do this in a "bugfix" release cycle.

If I don't hear anything in a day or two, I will revert these classes to final.
