           Summary: FastDateFormat analog for DecimalFormat
           Product: Commons
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: enhancement
          Priority: P2
         Component: Lang
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: bschneider@vecna.com

Should commons-lang include something analogous to FastDateFormat as a
replacement for DecimalFormat? Or is there no need (is DecimalFormat already
thread-safe for formatting only)?
