Summary: Can't have null fields with custom converters
           Product: Commons
           Version: 4.0
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Windows 2000
            Status: NEW
          Severity: major
          Priority: P2
         Component: Bean Utilities
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: rick_poole@raytheon.com

I've written a custom converter for one of our classes that is stored in the DB
as a java.sql.Timestamp. Since some of our timestamp columns are optional the
converted is coded to return a null if the incoming value is null rather than
return a default value or throw an exception. However, the beanutils'
copyproperties method throws an exception trying to deal with this null return
value (I believe it is a reflection exception).
