Well, I suppose to do it right would involve a few more changes than I thought
at first:
Command: public void setCatalog(Catalog)
Command: public void release()
Catalog: public void release()
CatalogFactory: public void release()

Then the CatalogFactory.clear() method would call release on all its catalogs
before clearing the map, giving the command a chance to clear the circular
reference back to its catalog.

Not as lightweight as it first seemed.  Is it worth it?
