Validator 1.1.3 Logging causes Unparseable Date Exception

Summary: Validator 1.1.3 Logging causes Unparseable Date
                    Exception
           Product: Commons
           Version: unspecified
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Normal
          Priority: Other
         Component: Validator
        AssignedTo: commons-dev@jakarta.apache.org
        ReportedBy: jhertz@speakeasy.net

In a Struts 1.2.4 application, I attempt to validate a date using
DatePatternStrict. I have logging in log4J set to "warn".

If I enter an invalid date, the application catches it, but also throws an
exception. If I turn logging to "error", I get no such exception.

Relevant stacktrace follows.
