I was thinking at this issue recently, maybe we could start with a decorator,
let say DataConfiguration, including array and List getters as well as getters
for additional types (Locale, Date, Calendar, URL, NumberFormat, Color...), and
ask the users (with a note in the javadoc of the class) to notify the
developpers if they would like to have these methods directly in the
Configuration interface in a future release.
